Region:

Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) was created in 1990. Due to continuous ongoing conflict it remains one of the poorest regions in the Philippines.

Local Water Situation:

Lack of resources, expertise, political will and ongoing conflict has prevented many ARMM residents from gaining access to clean water. This partnership evolved into the creation of ASDs Regional PODS Program which transfers appropriate technologies as well as organizational development strategies to create self-reliant water organizations.

A Single Drop's Role:

ASDSW partnered with Local Governance Support Program in ARMM (LGSPA) to strengthen their water program by building the technical and organizational capacity of LGSPA-created Municipal WASH Task Forces and LGSPA-supported Community Service Organizations. This partnership evolved into the creation of ASDs Regional PODS Program which transfers appropriate technologies as well as organizational development strategies to create self-reliant water organizations.
